Conditioning of ultra-high resolution survey data for the transition energy industry

Overview

The Challenge

Moveout undertakes a growing list of projects for Rockwave to prepare UHR data with a variety of source types from offshore windfarm surveys ahead of data processing.

What we did

Moveout Data worked collaboratively with Rockwave to understand its specific industry objectives in order to optimise project efficiency. Using MetaseisTM, we sorted and organised the supplied field data and fixed coordinate discrepancies, such as missing x and y coordinates which we were able to recalculate from latitude and longitude data. In addition, we corrected receiver coordinate grid errors based upon source position data enabling CMPs to be recalculated. The result was a conditioned SEG-Y nav-merged dataset ready for high resolution data processing.

“Working with UHR data from around the world it is clear that there are no consistent standards for data and navigation recording. This can require time consuming preparation work before processing can even begin. Rather than do that ourselves, we outsource to the experts! Moveout has so far managed to resolve every problem we have thrown at them in an efficient and timely manner to meet our tight deadlines.”
