Reverse engineering seismic data

Overview

The Challenge

AGS Geophysical Services acquired land node acquisition survey data in Oman in SEG-Y format. Final deliverables included the SEG-Y format and raw field data in SEG-D format. Moveout Data was engaged to reverse-engineer the SEG-Y data to generate SEG-D data files from the customer deliverable dataset.

Results

What we did

Moveout successfully completed the SEG-Y to SEG-D conversion of 402 swathes of land node data, fully compliant with industry data standards. We generated bespoke applications within MetaseisTM which completed the conversion within 15 days of the data being received at Moveout’s UK offices.

“Moveout established what we needed and created a bespoke application for our project, quickly. This meant they could produce a dataset in raw field format which enabled our client to fulfil its data reporting obligations.”
